Hold me, please!

At certain times of day, the Pack 'n' Play or the swing just won't cut it; Bjorn wants to be held. Aaron and I of course enjoy holding him, but for the times when we want to employ both of our hands to do something else, it is wonderful to have so many family members living nearby who can visit us and take a turn snuggling with our warm little bundle. Here are some recent shots of Bjorn being held by Uncle Erik and Aunt Tami (when meeting them for the first time) and sleeping on Grandma B.

Blowing kisses

It took Leif a good three weeks before he dared to so much as touch his baby brother (we would ask him if he wanted to give the baby a pat or touch his toes and Leif would vehemently reply, "No!"), but we did get him to blow Bjorn some kisses while playing out on the back porch one day. He has since graduated to giving his baby brother the occasional fist bump or touching his feet to Bjorn's feet. I'm a little nervous he'll try to step on the baby or sit on the baby one of these days, but no signs of that yet. We've only had one attempted eye poke thus far.

Toga Boy

Leif is still not really interested in learning how to put on and take off his clothes by himself, but he *has* developed a recent interest in creative rearrangement of his arms with respect to his shirts' sleeves and neck holes. It reminds me of when he was a baby and would always stick one arm up out of his swaddle. We have dubbed him Toga Boy.

Leif sings the ABCs

Now that Leif is a few months into life as a two-year-old, he's becoming more and more verbal and also learning how to ham it up and perform for an appreciative audience (such as his parents, granny, and auntie in this video). I think there must have been a lot of singing of the ABC song in the most recent ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class we took, because all of a sudden Leif started including most of the letters when he sang it, rather than just his dozen or so favorite letters, as he used to do. Sometime this year he'll hit all 26, I'm sure ;) .
